Cryptography & PKI

This course provides a clear introduction to the core concepts of cryptography and how they are used to protect information in network security environments. Learners will explore important cryptographic functions such as encryption, hashing, and digital signatures, along with their role in securing data, verifying integrity, and supporting trusted communication. The course also covers key topics related to Public Key Infrastructure, commonly known as PKI. Learners will understand how PKI works, why it is important for authentication and secure communication, and how certificates are used in real-world security deployments. In addition, the course includes practical examples of PKI implementation on Cisco IOS and Cisco ASA platforms, helping learners connect cryptography concepts with actual network security configurations.
