Deploying IP Multicast on Juniper Routers

Deploying IP Multicast on Juniper Routers introduces the core principles and configuration approaches required to enable multicast services across enterprise and service provider environments. The course helps learners understand how multicast traffic is efficiently distributed to multiple receivers while maintaining network performance and scalability. Learners explore key concepts such as multicast forwarding mechanisms, receiver join and leave behavior, rendezvous point (RP) design, and the role of Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) in different network topologies and deployment scenarios. The training also covers PIM sparse mode, dense mode, and sparse-dense mode operations, along with RP discovery methods such as Auto-RP and Anycast RP, as well as their operational impact on Juniper platforms. This course is intended for engineers who want to build a strong conceptual and practical understanding of multicast architecture and its implementation using Junos OS.
