Firewall Technologies
Firewall Technologies explores the critical role firewalls play as a primary security control within modern network defense architectures. It explains how firewalls evaluate and inspect network traffic based on predefined security policies to determine whether communication should be allowed, blocked, or further analyzed. Learners gain insight into the evolution of firewall technologies, from basic packet filtering mechanisms to advanced systems capable of detecting, preventing, and mitigating sophisticated threats. The course also covers key concepts such as stateful inspection, policy-based traffic control, and modern firewall functionalities used in enterprise security environments. It helps establish a clear understanding of where firewalls fit within layered security models and how they enforce controlled communication between trusted internal networks and untrusted external zones.
