Introduction to VPN Architecture
Introduction to VPN Architecture gives learners a structured understanding of VPN technologies and the design principles behind them. The course compares Layer 2 VPNs, Layer 3 VPNs, MPLS-based services, IPsec concepts, remote access VPNs, site-to-site VPN patterns, segmentation, encryption, and provider versus enterprise use cases. Learners build a clearer understanding of how VPNs create private and controlled connectivity over shared infrastructure. The course also explains the trade-offs different VPN architectures introduce, including scalability, security, operational complexity, traffic separation, and deployment flexibility. This course is useful for network engineers and IT professionals who need a strong foundation for evaluating, designing, supporting, or troubleshooting VPN solutions across enterprise and service provider environments.
