Measuring Network Performance with IP SLA
Understanding whether a network is simply reachable is no longer enough. Modern networks require visibility into performance, reliability, and degradation, and Cisco IP Service Level Agreements (IP SLAs) provide the tools to deliver that insight. In Measuring Network Performance with IP SLAs, you’ll learn how IP SLAs actively generate traffic to measure reachability, latency, and network behavior. The course focuses on how IP SLAs are configured, scheduled, and monitored, with practical emphasis on ICMP-based SLAs and real-world use cases. You’ll also see how IP SLAs integrate with Object Tracking to influence routing decisions and enable intelligent failover, as well as how IP SLA Reaction Configurations can generate syslog messages and SNMP traps when performance thresholds are exceeded. The course includes quizzes and hands-on labs to reinforce learning and improve retention, allowing you to observe and validate IP SLA behavior in realistic network topologies. By the end, you’ll be ready to use IP SLAs as a proactive tool for measuring and maintaining network performance.
