Understanding L3VPNs & IPv6 VPNs
Understanding L3VPNs and IPv6 VPNs helps learners examine Layer 3 VPN services from both design and operational perspectives. The course explains key VPN concepts, routing separation, provider edge behavior, route targets, route distinguishers, MP-BGP, IPv4 VPNs, and important IPv6 VPN considerations. Learners connect configuration concepts with troubleshooting and verification practices, helping them understand how customer routes remain isolated while still being transported across a shared provider backbone. The course also highlights how service providers use routing policies and VPN control mechanisms to maintain separation, scalability, and reliable service delivery. This course is useful for service provider learners, network engineers, and anyone who wants to build deeper knowledge of routed VPN services, customer route isolation, and IPv4 or IPv6 VPN operations.
